Enock Benjamin

People over profits! People over profits! People over profits! People over profits!

That's what comes to mind when we think of the story of Enock Benjamin. Mr. Benjamin was a father, a husband, a proud Haitian immigrant + a hard working man who took care of his family.

He worked everyday as the Chief Steward of a meat packing facility. As the pandemic hit, he was considered an essential worker, yet was not provided the proper equipment to keep him and his coworkers safe. Enock died of COVID-19 and it could have been prevented.

Enock Benjamin, like all of us, was a human worthy of life. We honor him + the sacrifices he made.

The health + safety of immigrant essential workers are a priority. #ImmigrantsAreEssential, not disposable.
